Finnish education export reaches a major milestone as the first batch of Finnish International High School students graduate from Qatar-Finland International School on June 15.
“We are extremely proud of our students who have studied the rigorous Finnish International High School curriculum and taken the final exams successfully”
To graduate, the students have completed 150 credits of high school studies and passed the Finnish International Final Examination (F.I.F.E.) in at least six subjects. The examination, prepared and assessed by the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER), is based on an international version of the Finnish high school curriculum.
Juhani Rautopuro, Research Professor, Head of F.I.F.E. at FIER is happy with the experience from the first exams:
“The results indicate that Finnish experts working on the exams have succeeded well in finding balance between assessing learning outcomes according to Finnish-level requirements and taking into account the international environment.”
The students and the examiners alike work on a digital exam platform, purpose-built by Eduten Ltd.
“Making exam administration quick and easy with high data security was the target, and we are happy to say we have reached that.”
Following this successful pilot phase, the Finnish International Final Examination will now become available for schools around the world.
Many high-quality international universities have already offered admission to Q.F.I. High School students. EduCluster Finland, FIER and Eduten wish all the best for the graduates as they set off on their journey towards reaching next milestones!
