The staff of NGO STEM Osvita
Eduten, in collaboration with the Finnish Embassy in Ukraine and NGO STEM Osvita, has successfully concluded an
educational project aimed at mitigating learning losses among Ukrainian primary school students. This initiative,
utilizing Finland's advanced digital learning practices, specifically the Eduten platform, marks a big step in improving
mathematics education across Ukraine.
Starting in January 2023, the project targeted primary school students in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions – areas deeply
affected by the ongoing conflict and pandemic-related educational disruptions. By integrating Eduten, which is known for
its extensive analytics and personalized learning paths, the initiative has significantly boosted mathematical skills
and overall educational engagement among students.
Throughout the year, the project reached over 5,000 students, providing them with essential mathematical skills and
supporting teachers with the latest educational tools. The project also facilitated extensive training for teachers,
enhancing their digital competencies and teaching methodologies.
"The collaboration with the Finnish Embassy and Eduten has allowed us to deliver Eduten, a proven educational program that not only addresses immediate learning gaps but also builds a foundation for future educational resilience. We are happy with the outcomes of the project which have not only improved students' proficiency in mathematics but also equipped teachers with the skills to continue improving education in all of Ukraine."
"We're proud to support Ukraine's educational progress and look forward to continuing our efforts. I am personally looking forward to attending the 'Teachers of the Future' festival in Lviv this June, where I will deliver a keynote focused on sharing Finnish educational expertise and exploring new ways to support and empower Ukrainian educators and students."
The project outcomes include a notable improvement in students' mathematical performance, with significant reductions in
learning losses. Teachers have also benefited from reduced administrative work, allowing them to focus more on
pedagogical activities and student interaction.
As Ukraine continues to navigate through these challenging times, the successful implementation of this project
highlights the critical role of international collaboration and innovative technology in advancing education. The Eduten
platform, with its Finnish roots and global acclaim, has once again proven to be an invaluable resource in transforming
education, even in the most challenging environments.
