Review of the Project Results, Bhutan.
In a conclusive study conducted in Bhutan, Eduten, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Skills
Development of Bhutan, has demonstrated significant improvements in mathematics education through the Eduten
learning platform. Powered by the UNICEF Global Learning Innovation Hub, the Bhutan study reveals promising
outcomes, marking an advance in addressing global educational challenges.
Since 2019, over half of the children worldwide have faced difficulties meeting basic reading and math standards,
a situation further worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, UNICEF’s Global Learning Innovation Hub
increased its efforts to integrate innovative solutions into education systems worldwide. Eduten, a recipient of
the 2022 UNICEF
EdTech Award, played an important role in these efforts by implementing its gamified math learning platform
as part of a study in Bhutan.
500 students, 20 teachers, and 20 principals from Bhutanese schools participated in the study over the course of
10 weeks. The results were outstanding, with students using Eduten showing a 40% higher improvement in math skills
over those in the control group.
Henri Muurimaa, CEO of Eduten, commented on the results:
"The results from Bhutan are a clear testament to the transformative power of the Eduten platform. We are looking forward to expanding our impact and exploring new opportunities to support educational development globally."

With the success of the pilot, discussions are underway to explore further collaborations and expand the use of Eduten's platform to continue improving educational outcomes in Bhutan and beyond.
