FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Turku, Finland – 24 October 2026 – Eduten Ltd, an education technology spin-off from the University of Turku, and the Ministry of Education of Mongolia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU aims to expand the use of research-based digital learning tools in Mongolian general education and to improve learning outcomes for all Mongolian children.

The MoU was signed on 23 October 2026 in the presence of President of Finland Alexander Stubb and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, at a Finland-Mongolia Business Forum held during President Khurelsukh’s visit to Finland. Henri Muurimaa, CEO, signed on behalf of Eduten, and Enkhbayar Baatartsol, Director of the Foreign Relations Department, signed on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Mongolia.

Scope of the cooperation

The cooperation covers mathematics for all general education grades, literacy and other subjects. It builds on Eduten’s digital learning excellence, learning analytics and AI tools, which draw on decades of educational and pedagogical research.

The Parties intend to cooperate in areas including:

Building on multi-year cooperation in Mongolia

The new agreement builds on Eduten’s long-standing work in Mongolia from 2022. Eduten and the then Ministry of Education and Science signed a pilot agreement in December 2022 to validate the viability and effectiveness of Finnish educational tools in the Mongolian context. After the very successful pilot program, the Ministry of Education rolled out Eduten to all general education schools. The cooperation has been growing year by year since then, and Eduten’s impact on learning results, student motivation and teacher effectiveness are very high.

The University of Turku, where Eduten was developed, also signed two MoUs with the Ministry of Education at the event. The first strengthens cooperation in education, research and development, including student and staff mobility and the reform of teacher education. The second will bring the University of Turku’s evidence-based KiVa Antibullying Program to Mongolian schools.

Together, the agreements signed yesterday reflect a growing partnership in bringing Finnish educational excellence to Mongolian classrooms.
